At a time when customers
want more information inside the
vehicle concerning routes and next stops the Infotainment system
is breaking new ground. Up to now, next stop, vehicle route or
pearl string displays have been used for this purpose.
The ii INFOtainment system is a result of ongoing development
to provide passengers with easy to read information and in a
more appealing format. A highbright 15'' or 17'' TFT monitor
positioned in the interior of the bus not only keeps passengers
informed about next stop, the route, and transport connections,
the bus operator also has the option of fading in advertisements.
The TFT is freely configurable meaning that you can show
passenger information in full colour, high definition display as
well as showing video clips or advertisements. These new
capabilities allow you to be creative in how you inform and
entertain your passengers.
And once your Infotainment system is linked in to your IBIS
Intelligent System the information you provide becomes more
and more instant.
The centre of the Infotainment system is an embedded PC which
controls a TFT monitor. Static advertising insertions are correlated
to the route and current stop. The controller supplies vehicles
locations along their routes so that the line route can be displayed.
The system is controlled from the IBIS on-board
computer and
supplied with the latest position and stop data. This means that
with the Infotainment server, it is only necessary to reload new
vehicle routes from one point within the vehicle.
The passengers are kept informed in an entertaining manner
and the bus operator has generated additional income through
advertising. A system of this kind pays for itself in a very short
space of time.
The INFOtainment system is programmed using our InfoTED software.
This Windows-based interface allows you to draw up and display stationary
advertisements by date, day, time or route number, using jpg or
bmp images. |
